Interacting with Elore Resources

Last updated: July 2026

Welcome — and Thank You for Being Here!

Elore exists for the purpose of providing contemporary educational resources from legacies of traditional knowledge. Through visiting our site, you are joining a community of curious explorers who believe that learning is a lifelong pursuit as essential as breathing. These terms do not set up barriers to this community — they are simply an agreement between us that helps maintain these resources responsibly for everyone who uses them.

The Pursuit of Learning Should Not Be Restricted

The primary content on Elore is offered free of charge. There is no paywall here, no subscription necessary, no registration required. You are welcome to read, listen, watch, save, print, share quotes and excerpts for personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes. This is the internet, we expect content to travel — to personal notebooks and learning journals, to classrooms, to reading groups, to friends who might benefit from it.

When sharing our content, we ask that you attribute it to Elore and, where possible, guide others back to the original source page. This helps others find the full context and supports the ongoing work of our contributors.

What We Ask of You

Elore has been publishing online for over three decades — literally since the dawn of the World Wide Web. We are able to make value determinations on how we present content becuase through all those years, at no small cost, we have managed to remain an independently managed venture. With continued support of our international community we intend to keep producing quality content and making it freely accessible for many years to come.

Because this is a widely shared resource, we ask that visitors engage with Elore's resources in good faith. Specifically, please do not:

  • Reproduce large portions of our content elsewhere online or redistribute our content commercially without explicit permission.
  • Use our materials in ways that misrepresent their origin or objective educational intent, including the claiming of an endorsement by Elore in the absence of one.
  • Copy or republish the Elore logos, trademarks or the representations of Elore members and its associated characters.
  • Submit false or misleading information through our contact forms

These are modest requests. We trust that most visitors — people who care enough about cultural history to be here — will recognize their necessity.

Accuracy and Academic Standards

We take accuracy seriously. Our content is reviewed by knowledgeable contributors and we strive to represent the scholarly consensus on historical and cultural matters while acknowledging and engaging with topics of debate. No educational resource is infallible, however. If you recognize an error or believe something could be represented from a different perspective, please find your way to the nearest contact form — we genuinely welcome discussion and collaboration with the Elore community.

Respecting the broadly open nature of the internet, our content is crafted for general educational audiences and should not be referenced as the sole source for academic research requiring peer-reviewed citations. We encourage all researchers to review our primary sources where provided and consult broader scholarly literature wherever appropriate.

Intellectual Property

The content, design, and all original materials on the Elore sites and features are the intellectual property of Elore and its contributors. Content credited to third-party sources (including public archives and open-license repositories) remain subject to their original licensing terms, which we indicate where required. Our use of public domain and open-access materials is made in good faith and in the spirit of public education.

Links to External Sites

Our resources occasionally link to external publications, libraries, archives, universities, and other educational resources. These links and reviews are offered as a service to readers seeking deeper exploration of featured subjects. We hold no influence over external sites and take no responsibility for their content, policies, or availability. A link from Elore is also not an endorsement of everything an external site contains or the views it may present.

About Us

Elore provides study resources for self-motivated independent learners who seek a deeper engagement with the world around them, and a comprehensive understanding of the times we are living through.

We now exist within an era where the constant stream of 'urgent' mobile communication, endlessly streaming digital media and a flood of AI generated content drown out our own thoughts and assault our beliefs. In such Vintage books of lore an environment the self-motivated learner finds it challenging to focus and thrive. Cultural history and traditional lore provide a vital antidote to the flood of ephemeral media and synthetic content. The narratives, customs, beliefs, and artistic expressions of past civilizations and diverse communities, provide independent learners a wealth of knowledge and wisdom distilled from actual human experience.
